The Strawberry Festival in Bellevue

Saturday we took a trip over to Bellevue.  ::runs off on a tangent:: 'taking a trip over to Bellevue is like saying we took a trip to Henderson from Summerlin in Las Vegas.  Kirkland, Redmond, Bellevue, Bothel...they are all separate cities, but they all run together, so it's not like we packed our bags and spend the weekend, we just went there... ::runs back from tangent::

I signed up for my Bountiful Baskets at the last minute meaning that all the pickups by me were full, so we had to go into Bellevue to get our basket.  It was exciting for me because was something familiar to me, minus the butt crack of dawn and coffee with my friend Alexis.  Anyway, in our basket we got a cantaloupe, apricots, cherries, blueberries, bananas, potatoes, spaghetti squash, onions, celery, and lettuce.  For $15 you can't beat that.

After our pick up we headed over to Lowe's for our Build and Grow project.  We had taken Lucy to see the new Madagascar movie when it came out, so this projet was fitting.

Once Build and Grow was done, we headed over to the Bellevue Strawberry Festival.  The idea behind this was awesome, you go, eat your weight in strawberries, have some strawberry fun, and then go home right?  Well, sadly, that was not the case.  We only saw two strawberry stands and the rest was booths trying to sell us gutter cleaning services, goats milk soap, and various other non-strawberry related items.  So it was slightly disappointing.  We did get some fun info on activities in the area and we signed Lucy up for a free karate class, but really, that was it!  So we were hoping for much more, but only ended up with some brochures and a karate class.  Better luck next time I suppose.
