Day 1: BOO!

How exciting!!  It's the first day to my 31 Days of Crafting!  Every day for the next 31 days I will be posting some sort of craft that I have done.  These crafts could be anything from scrapbooking to cooking.  This week, I am trying to focus on Halloween decorations.  I have never decorated the house for Halloween, but thought it would be fun this year to start.

A few months ago, I pinned this.  I really loved how it looked and really wanted to make it for my own house.  Then, a couple of days ago, I was checking out some crafting blogs and stumbled across this blog, and saw her take on it.   I liked that better than the pin, and started thinking about how to do my own take on it.

So, I headed over to my trusty cricut and started flipping through the cartridges that I have.  I decided on a font and cut some letters out in Halloween paper.  While those were printing, I went to our recycle bin and pulled out some cardboard.  I traced the letters onto the cardboard and then painted them black (you can see Lucy's painting box here I had to borrow it).

After the paint was dry, I mod podged the scrapped letters to the cardboard.

This morning, when I woke up, I used some twine I found in the garage and strung up the letters, and then hung it on our front door.  I am really happy with how it came out!
