This week's menu

We were hit with the plague last week.  Not the real plague, just a 24 hour stomach bug that left us all on the brink of death.  Well not real death, but close enough.  It's the first time in YEARS I have been sick like that, it's the first time EVER that sickness has hit our house all at once like this.

Fortunately, we are all better now.  We didn't do much with last weeks menu.  Thursday when illness hit, none of us ate much more than some dry bread and chicken soup (thank goodness for the drive thru Panera).  Friday, I stewed a HUUUUGE pot of chicken noodle soup and we ate that all day and then pretty much all weekend.

I am taking this next week a little easy just because I want to make sure we are all 100% better and because when two days go by recovering and the children run rampant and no one cleans, it takes a week to recover just in housework.  So I am going to be lazy and make an easy week in meals.

Also, I realize I owe you guys a post on Dexter's birthday.  This will come soon.  I am 99% sure I left my USB cord for my camera in Las Vegas and I just ordered a new one from Amazon so I can upload my pictures from our trip and Dexter's party.  I cannot wait to share these with you, it really was a super great time.

Alright, here is some menu planning for this week.

B - oatmeal
L - cucumber salad (kids are getting chicken and peas)
D - tortellini with white sauce and sautéed zucchini

L - snacks (we are hosting a play date so the kids will just eat whatever is brought)

B - Starbucks (we will be picking up our bountiful baskets so we leave early)

D - FAMILY COOKING NIGHT!!  We are making mac and cheese and chicken

  1. Tell me about this Cucumber salad! I love cukes :)

  2. It's really easy. I cut up the cucumbers (I leave the skin on because I like the skin), red onions, cherry tomatoes and avocados. I toss all that together with a little feta cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. It's delish!
