However, once it started and we got to watching it, I really really liked it. I really liked how the family worked together and how they grew together and learned from their new experiences and environment.
Lucy, of course, absolutely loved it. She sat practically on the edge of her seat the whole time. There were some intense scenes where the family were running for their lives from big scary animals, but all in all, there wasn't a whole lot of violence, at least not for us.
Dexter...well the time we went was during his nap time. We were hoping that the second the lights went dark he would curl up in our arms and like a sweet good little boy would fall fast asleep. This was not the case. He kicked and screamed and we had to take him out of the theater 5 or 6 times, until Matt finally was able to get him to sleep. So Matt didn't get to see the last 20 minutes or so of the movie.
Oh Dexter...
I will say that there was one part that I sort of choked up at, a scene similar to that of Armageddon, but DreamWorks did not fail to impress with how they made everything work out.
All in all, it was a great movie and I can't wait to buy it on DVD to add to our collection.
The Croods will be in a theater near you on March 22, 2013. We were given tickets to see this movie for free, but that did not impact my opinion on the movie itself.
We are seeing it this Saturday, can't wait!
