Paint party invitations

I promised invitations and here I am to deliver.

I was super happy with how these turned out.  Mostly because they are super cute, but also because they cost me NOTHING!
The kids and I took a quick trip to Home Depot and Lucy helped me pick out paint swatches from the paint department.  We picked out three of each color so I had a chance to screw up without needing to take extra trips.

When we got home, I tried running the swatches straight through the printer, but that didn't work well, so I just printed them on white paper and glued them.
 I added the quote
"Don't get too dressy because we will be getting messy"
to the bottom of the invites since we were painting.

Then it was time for me to get messy.  I grabbed Lucy's paint box and laid out the envelopes.  I took each of the six colors in our color palette and flicked the paint onto them.  I tried to get Lucy to help, but she said it was too messy for her.

And the final project!  I feel like all I do is say how much I love how things turned out from Lucy's party, but it's because I am.  I love how these turned out.  I kept thinking about how I should have made an invitation for myself just so I would have one to keep.

Yes you heard me, I wanted to invite myself to my daughter's party just so I could have an envelope.

I'm strange.  I know.
So are you pinning this or what?
