Washi Thank you cards

I love making cards.  You might already know that if you have been following me long enough.  But a quick blast from the past you can read about them here and here and my card organization box here.

Lucy likes making cards too.  Well pretty much whatever I am working on, she wants to work on.  When I told her that we needed to work on thank you cards for her birthday, she quickly asked me how we were going to do it.  My friend, Chelsea over at Making Home Base uses Washi tape for a lot of different things.  When Lucy asked me what we would use, I immediately knew that washi tape was the plan.
We headed to Michael's where I couldn't find the brand washi, so we just used the store brand.  I told Lucy we needed to get the colors of the rainbow, and these were the ones she picked out.

When we got back home, I put her to work.  I tore the tape in the right sizes, and then told her that she  needed to put them in order of the rainbow.  She sang a song about the rainbow while she did them to help her remember.  It also helped that I only tore off one color at a time.

In the end, this was the result.  I absolutely love them.  Not only do they fit in with the theme of her party, they were ridiculously easy to make, very inexpensive and I didn't have to do much work!  Always a plus.  I was really proud that Lucy did them, stuck it out even though she was exhausted, and she was proud too.

Here she is hamming it up with her finished project.

I mean look at them!  So much fun and so easy, a 5 year old could do it!

What are some easy kid crafts that you have used washi tape for?  Link it up in the comments, I would love to see!
