Paper accessories: My final round

I finished up my final round with One Artsy Mama this week with my paper accessories.  Unfortunately, it was not enough to get me to the next round.  That's ok, there was so much talent in that last round that it was going to be hard to move through.

A big congrats to the ladies that did make it through, I truly cannot wait to see what you come up with in the last round!

Now on to my project.

With Lucy starting school this fall, I decided to start working on her accessories.  No girl is complete without some dangles.

My first idea was to make paper bracelets with some Wonder Woman comic books, but they turned out like crap, so I went with plan be, which was to soak popsicle sticks in water for two days.  After they were done soaking, I formed them, very very carefully into the insides of coffee mugs so they would get the circular shape I wanted and let them sit for two days to dry.  When they were dried, I mod podged some paper to them.  While at Michaels, I found these paper flowers and butterflies and so I just hot glued them on to the bracelets.  Finally, I drilled a hole on each side and strung them through with some string so they will stay on.

I had a bunch of the flowers and butterflies left over, so I hot glued them to some clips.

The headband was my favorite.  I mod podged some paper scraps to a plastic headband in a mosaic type pattern.  And then I topped it with a couple flowers and butterflies.

Lastly, I had Lucy model them for me.  And she of course turned into a little ham.

I am pretty sure she is going to be one stylin' gal when school rolls around, what do you think?

So although I didn't make it through, I am ok with that.  I do know that my head was not completely in this project since I had way more going on with Lucy's surgery, I mean, I almost forgot to submit my project at all!

I send all my best wishes to the ladies that made it through and look out crafting world, I'm hunting for another contest now!
