Last minute Fourth of July crafts; Part 1

First off, this post is late.  Like way late.  I was having issues uploading my photos and well, now, I just have a late post.  That's ok, the fact that you guys are getting this post now, instead of next year is worth it.

It is quite possibly was the easiest thing I have done.  With the exception of actually getting the pictures loaded that is.

I raided our scrap wood pile and used the miter saw for the first time alone.  I randomly cut these pieces of wood.  Then I went into my paint box and grabbed my spray paint.  I ran out of white paint halfway through painting the white ones, of course, and had to hand paint them.

Once the paint was dry, I drilled small holes into the tops of all of them.  Lucy then helped me put in the pipe cleaners.  And not just any pipe cleaners, the glitter pipe cleaners that I won from One Artsy Mama's One Crafty Contest during the glitter round.  Because what firework is complete without some sparkle?

She made the ones that are color coded, she got angry with me when I was mixing them up, because, "mommy, they don't match!"

When they were all done, I couldn't decide how I liked them grouped better.  I used some of the glitter string from Craftprojectideas.com.  Others I used washi tape on.

I still can't decide which is my favorite.

Maybe they are all my favorites since I love them all so much!  I can't wait to put them out on the food table on the 4th for display!

What do you think?  Which are your favorites?

  2. These are adorable, no surprise there. Everything you make is adorable! I think I like the ones tied with string the best. The washi tape is cute but I think I would make some cupcake or fruit tart toppers with it or something.
