Day 1: The Washi Tape holder

Day 1

Day 1 of crafting with PVC pipe.  I figure I might as well start off with a bang.  I made this washi tape holder for myself using a piece of scrap wood, some hooks and some .5" PVC pipe.

It was a pretty easy project.  I simply cut the pipe in approximately 1ft pieces.  I used a piece of peg board to measure out where my hooks needed to go and then I drilled holes for each of them.

The hardest part was screwing in the hooks because I had to do that by hand.

After I screwed in all the hooks, I wrapped rubber bands around the ends of the pipe so they wouldn't come loose easily.  Then I separated the washi tape by color.  Oh and I added a piece of almost every pattern of washi tape I have to the side as decoration.

Lastly, I covered the whole thing in mod podge so my washi tape border would stay in place.  Currently, I have this resting on my easel in my crafting nook.  Eventually, when I have the space, I will hang it on the wall so I can always see it and it's glory and it will be out of Dexter's reach since he loves messing with it.

And that concludes Day 1.

  1. Love it!! My hubby is a plumber, so we ALWAYS have scraps of PVC around the house and in his truck - I cant wait for 30 more ideas to turn them into something fun!! Great idea for the 31 day of series!

  2. I have used PVC for a great project....It's call a sprinkler system...

  3. PVC!!! EEK! The hardest round in SYTYC by far! :) Can't wait to see what you come up with!

  4. Jessica, I was the one that picked PVC for the SYTYC challenge that season :) I was super bummed when I didn't make it to that round!

  5. Hello from a fellow Pacific NW friend. I'm near Tacoma. I love this Washi tape holder. So colorful, useful and fun. Great idea. Jodi @ www.meaningfulmama.com
