Day 27
I wanted to make a PVC pipe necklace during this journey. I wasn't exactly sure how to do it, or how it would look, I just new I wanted to do it. Now one thing you need to know about me is that I suffer slightly from insomnia. I say "slightly" because sometimes I am up all night playing Candy Crush. Some nights, I am up all night with ideas and I make notes and plans. This necklace came to me during one of my insomnia nights full of ideas.
I took a 3/4" PVC pipe and cut it at a 45 degree angle, and then I cut again creating this "bead." Then I hand painted the inside teal and the outside black. The colors could be anything though. I just chose black and teal because those are the beads I wanted to use.
And as you can see, there are some flaws. I am completely fine with that because I don't always like perfect. If I wanted something 100% perfect, I would just buy something from the store.
Once I was done and started taking pictures, Lucy ran over and said she wanted to wear it. Of course she did.
Summary, I already had the chain, I used a backing of a broken necklace I already had, the PCV bead cost maaaaaybe $.10 and the smaller beads on the inside were $2. This necklace cost me just over $2 to make.
Pretty sweet huh?
