Silhouette Challenge - November
My Choice - Vinyl
Remember last month when I did the Silhouette Challenge and made that pretty awesome (if I do say so myself) Halloween banner? Well I decided to participate again this month. I love giving myself a challenge, but if it wasn't for this group I joined, I would push off these personal challenges until I was old and gray (which, well, I already am).

I've been trying to figure out how I am going to redesign my blog header and I've wanted it to be something that I designed myself. Of course I wanted to stick with the Seattle theme. I tried all kinds of ideas. I looked for free source Seattle skyline gifs. I tried sketching, I tried tracing, I tried a lot of different things. In the end, I decided to find a picture of the skyline that I loved and imported it to my Silhouette studio and figured out how to use the trace function.
Once I had the outline, I loaded up my vinyl.
And out came this:
I was pleasantly surprised with how easy this was. And I was even more happy with how well it turned out
My original plan was to water paint around the silhouette, then take it off, lay down the negative and water color the skyline also, but when I finished with the water colored sky, I knew it was done. I loved the way it looked with the straight black vinyl that I didn't want to take it off. I mean, check it out:
Now I need to figure out how to make this my new header, because, I am in love!
