This Week's Menu

I told you guys last week about how I was planning on not eating out at all.  Well, I am happy to say, that we did not eat out at all. We did hit up Starbucks after speech therapy, but we totally stayed away from eating out for a big meal.

It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be either.  I think that once you get past the initial urge to eat out, it's super easy to stick it out.  That and there isn't much I love more than good BBQ and since it's been so hot lately, all we have been doing is BBQing.

To add to my BBQ obsession, I recently bought a really good pizza pan, rib rack, shish kabob set and a grill pan.  I'm going to tell you, these things have CHANGED MY LIFE!  My BBQ life that is! The pizza pan makes it so that our pizzas are normal size and not little personal slices so they are easy to pick up with the spatula. We've also been making ribs at least once a week too. I rub them with a garlic powder, onion powder, seasonal salt and brown sugar rub. It's been awesome!

And better than awesome, it's kept us from eating out.  I go to the grocery store 4 times a week now, but dinner time is not only easier, it's less stressful because we don't have to worry about the kids running ramped everywhere.

Also, today I was a hero.  That's right folks, a real life hero.  I was able to score tickets to take Lucy to go to see Elsa and Anna (impersonators) today and it made her day/life/everything.  She must have told me about a million times how much she loved it, how awesome I was for taking her and how she wanted to do these mommy daughter dates ever day.  I could not have felt anymore amazing after that.  It's moments like that, that totally make this parent thing worth it.

And if you are local and looking for a Frozen character to make an appearance at your next event, don't forget to like "Elsa's" page!

Now lets see what I can whip up for us this week!
