Disney inspired princess necklaces

Awhile back, I saw some pretty cool Disney princess necklaces made by Steph and Crafting in the Rain.  I loved how she painted the wood beads and made them not so "in your face" princess-y.  They are simple enough that you could wear them as an adult and not come off as too "child-like"  Heck, who am I kidding, I would wear them regardless.

So it was because these necklaces were always in the back of my head, that when I was at Ben Franklin recently (my local craft store) and saw these amazing crystal beads, I knew they would make for a great version of princess necklaces.  As a matter of fact, we made one for a friend of ours for her 4th birthday!

Lucy and I spent a good 30 minutes matching up beads and figuring out which princesses needed what colors and beads.  I am really enjoying the fact that she is getting old enough to help me, and really help me.  She loved that I was using her opinions too, so it was a win/win for both of us!

The one we had the hardest time with was Mulan because, (1) we haven't binge watched it yet and (2) when I did put together a necklace out of blue and green beads, it looked more Seahawks than Mulan, so I skipped her.

Because these beads are a tad pricey at $1.50 each, I decided to not buy beads to make 12 individual necklaces.  Instead, I decided to just rotate out the beads as Lucy fancies.  I mean, sometimes you feel like Elsa and some days you feel like Snow White.

Foolishly, I almost forgot about one of the newest princesses, at least to Disney that is...

Blasphemy right?  I love these necklaces, however Lucy is even more excited than I am!  She can't wait to wear them all for Halloween (is what she said, she wants to wear them all at once!) but also can't wait to wear them to school so she can be a princess in class.

So you tell me, which is your favorite?

  1. Absolutely love these especially merida snow white and Elsa ( which could definitely double as Cinderella!) And I love that you used yellow string for Rapunzel!!!

  2. Love the Snow White (my 6 year old, Addison's favorite) and Elsa (because I'm as big a Frozen fan as my children).

  5. You could add white and pink with Mulan to go with the makeup she wears in the beginning of the movie
