Harry Potter inspired necklace

Deathly Hallows Necklace #harrypotter

It's no secret that I am adore the Harry Potter series, remember my library bag?  I have read/listened/watched the series more times than I would care to admit.  I love the story, the magic, the wonder, the struggles, the, well, everything.

And let's not forget the tattoo I have...

When I decided to do crafting with wood this month, I knew I needed to make myself a wand...super ridic right?  You muggles just don't understand.

I didn't want just any old wand, I mean I couldn't actually go around town carrying a wand in my hand without getting a million questions about it...so instead, I went with a charm wand, one that I could simply wear around my neck.  I went out into my front yard and found a cute little stick, maybe made out of an elder tree, who knows, and did a little carving.

Then I grabbed this distress ink and stained it.

Also staining my finger in the process...all in the name of magic.

While the wand was drying, I cut out three triangles from paper on my Silhouette, and like I did in the past with my The Fault in our Stars best friend necklaces, I glued them all together so they were a little heartier.  I did not use any Mod Podge on this one though, I wanted it to be very plain and simple.  And for the circle, I went through my jewelry making stuff to find a silver hoop earring.  I just twisted the top a little so it would act as a charm instead of an earring.

I screwed in an eye screw to the top of the wand so it could be used as a charm.  Lastly, I strung them up together in the order of the Deathly Hallows; Triangle for the invisibility cloak, circle for the Resurrection stone and the stick for the Elder Wand.

"That is a children's tale, told to amuse rather than to instruct. Those of us who understand these matters, however, recognise that the ancient story refers to three objects, or Hallows, which, if united, will make the possessor Master of Death"
