I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Influence-Central for Littlest Pet Shop. I received a sample to facilitate my review and a thank you item for participating.
This fall, LITTLEST PET SHOP empowers fans to “Be who they wanna be!” with a new way to play
that offers the freedom to design their own PET SHOP world, their way. Fans can create their
own Downtown City, with customizable style sets and figures inspired by the “Littlest Pet Shop”
animated series. Fans can collect and stack the style sets vertically or horizontally to create a
unique ‘city skyline,’ then decorate and style the sets with Deco Bits -- unique, small accessories
that plug into the environments for a little added glamour – as well as stickers and other
decorative pieces. Fans can also collect and customize 100+ new pets, straight from the entertainment!
Over the weekend we got together a couple of Lucy's friends for a Littlest Pet Shop party! I know that Lucy enjoys watching the show, so I knew this would be a big hit for her and her friends! The girls decided to skip the snacks and headed directly to building! It was fun seeing them work together as a team to create their Littlest Pet Shop world! They did need assistance a few times from the grown ups, so luckily, there were a few willing to help out!
As a child, my favorite toys were always the ones I could build and create with (go figure right?). I remember one year my dad got us a science kit and I was so excited to create potions and concoctions. I think my dad was happy with it too, at least until we spilled iodine in the carpet!
And unlike the kids these days, we didn't really have an option for playing games online until I was in late middle school. There really wasn't a concern then for screen time (at least in our house) because my brother and I still played outside more than we stayed inside. It's hard to find that balance these days though because the games are so much more intriguing (not just to the kids!) and it's easy to use electronics as a crutch/baby sitter when you are looking to get projects at home completed too. Now as a parent in the digital age, we have to find a good balance. It's nice to have the interactive toys now because Lucy can set up her Littlest Pet Shop online and then continue the play in her room with the toys when her screen time is up.
Lucy really enjoys the Littlest Pet Shop toys especially because, like many little girls, she is obsessed with anything "cute" and "pretty," much to my dismay (I was never a girly girl so I don't know where she gets it). I can't say for sure who her favorite it because I haven't learned their names yet, heck it took me forever to learn the names of her ponies so I don't know how long it will take me to learn these!
The other plus to these toys being interactive online also, is I have another reward to offer Lucy. Instead of offering a "special treat" I can offer her minutes of screen time instead!
All in all, I think the girls really enjoyed these toys and I'm sure the rest of the kits will quickly be added to her "wish list" for Christmas!
