Easy Halloween T-Shirt

Hey everyone!  I'm interrupting my little blogging vacation to join in with the gals with Craft Lightning!  I've come up with a super fun one this month and I am excited to share it!

I've been wanting to use a bleach pen on a shirt for some time now, but like most of my projects, it's been on the back burner.  I will have to say, doing this shirt was SO MUCH easier than I expected. So you ready to make your own?  Let me help you.

Supplies
Bleach pen
T-Shirt (I found these to be awesome shirts, they are inexpensive, comfy and they don't have tags)
Cardboard or a piece of wood

Once you have your idea of what picture you want to have on your shirt, you just open up your bleach pen and go to town.  I also recommend using some sort of face mask or something.  I didn't and the bleach smell was pretty overpowering for me.

You could use a stencil too if you wanted, but I am better at free handing it so that's what I did.

When I was done, I let the bleach sit on the shirt for about 5 minutes.  I then rinsed it in the sink with my sprayer.  I would have taken a picture of that, but I couldn't hold the shirt, my phone AND the faucet at the same time...sadly.

After it was rinsed, I just popped it in the wash real quick and it was ready to go!  Seriously, the easiest project ever, and just think of all the possibilities lie in the knowledge of using a bleach pen on a shirt?  I am sure there are going to be MANY more in my future!

Don't forget to hop around and check out all the other super quick crafts in this months challenge!

  2. Glad you're back -- at least temporarily -- from your blogging vacation. Love how this shirt turned out, especially how you have the spider crawling on your shoulder. I've always wanted to do a bleach art shirt but wondered if I would ruin it when washing the bleach away.
